The RBL Parade Penzance was held on the 10th November and having met up at Marazion with its view of St Michaels Mount,
drove into St Johns Hall via the sea front. Outriders John and Geraldine Turner each with a Matchless, Cris Dunn leading. Graham
Martin turned up with his M38, Keith Netherton – Green Goddess, Simon Smith – Jeep, Rob MacLeod – Jeep and trailer, Sharon
Dunn – M38A1. Rebecca Dunn dressed as an evacuee created a lot of interest with the younger population.
After a 10 minute wait at the hall the vehicles led the parade down the main street of Penzance with a Pipe band, Cadets, the war
veterans and the usual dignitaries. The town turned out in large numbers to watch the parade. An Airborne poppy-drop was made at
1100 hrs which was impressive. After parking in the Wharfside car park were entertained by the local school Humphry Davey with a
selection of school bands playing anything from punk to Gospel. Thanks goes to Cris Dunn for providing information on this event.
On Wednesday 21st Nov we held our AGM. with a few committee changes. Ian stood down as area secretary and was thanked for
his services to the club during the past year. Bill Bock was voted unanimously into the post and addressed the meeting briefly to
assure the club that he takes his hobby and commitments very seriously.
Other committee members standing down were Roger, Graham and Tracy and were each thanked for their contribution. Gwen our
events coordinator felt it was time for us to have our minutes secretary, a position now filled by Paula following an unanimous vote.
Tim and Sharon of the WW2 field hospital and ambulance fame were unanimously voted onto the committee, other members
remaining the same.
Did you know that Harry has a super-charged jeep capable of 0 to 30 mph in half a second BACKWARDS and then leap
simultaneously forwards, but seriously a message to CMVT members from Harry our safety officer in his own words - GET A
WITNESS - on the 29 August 2007 Harry Philpott in his jeep on route to Mt Edgcumbe was rammed in the rear by a Ford focus at a
road junction. No damage to the jeep but the Ford focus was written off. Two months later the owner of the ford is claiming that the
jeep rammed him and is now suing for the damage. Lesson to be learned – Be careful and if involved in an incident GET A
WITNESS. - end of Harry's quote.
The CMVT Christmas dinner was held at the Sandy Lodge Hotel in Newquay on the 8th December where an excellent meal was
enjoyed by all. We shared the room with other groups which helped to boost our raffle funds enormously, and Bill Bock performing
as Master of Ceremonies with a toast caught the other groups a little off guard, a good evening was had by all with the young folk and
not so young dancing to the disco. Thanks goes to Roger Lambshead for organizing this event.
Now here's a new concept in vehicle reversing lights seen on a local road, on route to Davidstow Cornwall at War Museum?, I'm sure
we will see a lot more in the future, believed to be driven by Steve and Sheila Perry who I'm sure will en-lighten us.

Operation Mince Pie Run organised by Ian Dun held on the 6th January, It would have been better if more vehicles had supported the
run but with sixteen of us enjoying a good meal at the Blue Anchor it was a good get together. Ian organised the run in two sections,
members from the north of the county meeting up at Liskeard and arriving in Fraddon via Bodmin and Wadebridge while members
from the south were able to meet at Water-Ma-Trout and proceed to Fraddon via Truro, Tresillian and Ladock.
