The mince pie road run on 8th January was well supported and we all met up for lunch at the Blue Anchor. The club has
arranged a pre-season camping weekend at the Blue Anchor the weekend of 14th/15th April. We can set up on the Friday
and camp on the grassy area to the back of the pub. Although the details have still to be arranged, there will definitely be some
road runs. The pub management have agreed for us to put up flags and bunting, and do a 1940s singalong on the Friday and
Saturday evenings. Let me know if you have any more ideas.
Buckfastleigh will go ahead this year, although the MVT has been banned from the usual field.
Once again, Cornwall MVT will support the Cornish Tractor Club event and the West of England Rally. We have also been
invited to support the Padstow Rally. As for Armed Forces Day, the main parade will be in Plymouth, so Cornwall MVT will
be supporting Davidstow’s annual Armed Forces event.
No news of Okehampton yet. But Bodmin “Steaming through the Forties” is definitely on. There will be no Culdrose Air Day
this year (something to do with some sporting event in 2012 apparently). Ben Davis and family are off to France in June for
the annual commemorations at St Mere Eglise, and wants to know if anyone else is going.
