CMVT Current affairs April 2010
Attendance was down on last month but several apologies were received. With the show season getting
going now, members may have other commitments.
Gwen has added several more events to the already long list; I don’t think that anyone will be able to attend
them all this year!!!
Mt.Edgecumbe Event forms are available from Paula and we have also received the Christmas Dinner
details ! The forms for this “do” will be ready soon, it’s a way off but needs to be in your diary (11th Dec
at Sandy Lodge)
Bill has now got the “insurable” stores items marked up and the MVT treasurer is being contacted for details
of what / how things will be covered.
The MVT is developing a “Code of practice” to cover the use of pyrotechnics at MVT controlled events.
Although the MVT insurance does not cover their use (the user’s must have their own cover) we, as the
organizers, must ensure that their Code complies with the new MVT Code as well as H & S regs.
An MVT member has opened a web site – miliblog.co.uk – which has lots of vehicle photo’s, he is also
looking for any military snaps to add to his collection.
The guardroom barrier was collected from Mt.Edgecumbe and taken to Bodmin for the 40`s Weekend, it
was a bit of a squeeze in a short wheelbase L Rover but got there OK, it will be going to Marizion next then
back to Mt.Edgecumbe for August.
We have been promised another visit to the S 130 in the boatyard, they have asked us to contact them nearer
the day.
On the 25th Bill represented us at the Horse Show Bickam House, it was unfortunate that the road run took
place on the same day but we will try and get the dates sorted for next year.
The “Villages” road run was attended by 18 members and guests with 8 vehicles, after a “sun-shine and
showers” run a lunch had been arranged by George at the Kings Head” and was enjoyed by all.
We shall need someone to organize the Mt.Edgecumbe road runs – any volunteers?
Please contact me with any queries or suggestions on 01752 846699
or on dijohn025@blueyonder.co.uk
Best wishes to all
